The Worship Quote of the Week for (02/15/2005):

Worship: A Living Sacrifice to God
Over and over again in Scripture we see a worship paradigm of revelation and responseóa vision of Godís glory followed by a response of worship. Todayís WORSHIP QUOTE consists of six verses from the book of Romans. The transition from chapter eleven to chapter twelve of Paulís letter (notice the words ďand soĒ) is a wonderful example of this revelation/response pattern. Here is this wonderful passage in the NEW LIVING TRANSLATION.

Oh, how great are Godís riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!

For who can know the Lordís thoughts?
Who knows enough to give him advice?
And who has given him so much
that he needs to pay it back?

For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrificeóthe kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Donít copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know Godís will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
