The Worship Quote of the Week for (04/06/2004):

See, What a Morning! (RESURRECTION HYMN)
Today’s WORSHIP QUOTE is wonderful Easter text by Stuart Townend. The poet sets out to proclaim the glory of the resurrection as part of God’s marvelous plan for saving his people. Hallelujah! What a Savior! Christ is risen from the dead!

SEE, WHAT A MORNING! (RESURRECTION HYMN)

See, what a morning, gloriously bright,
With the dawning of hope in Jerusalem;
Folded the grave-clothes, tomb filled with light,
As the angels announce Christ is risen!
See God's salvation plan,
Wrought in love, borne in pain, paid in sacrifice,
Fulfilled in Christ, the Man,
For He lives: Christ is risen from the dead!

See Mary weeping, "Where is He laid?"
As in sorrow she turns from the empty tomb;
Hears a voice speaking, calling her name;
It's the Master, the Lord raised to life again!
The voice that spans the years,
Speaking life, stirring hope, bringing peace to us,
Will sound till He appears,
For He lives, Christ is risen from the dead!

One with the Father, Ancient of Days,
Through the Spirit who clothes faith with certainty,
Honor and blessing, glory and praise
To the King crowned with power and authority!
And we are raised with Him,
Death is dead, love has won, Christ has conquered;
And we shall reign with Him,
For He lives, Christ is risen from the dead!

— Stuart Townend @2003 Kingsway Thankyou Music. The musical setting is by Keith Getty. This song is currently available at www.worshiptogether.com as the FREE SONG. You can go to that site and have a listen. I’m not sure how long it will be there. The free download is also available at http://www.thankyoumusic.co.uk.

“I really wanted to convey the immediacy of the Easter morning experience, and how that morning changed history forever. The third verse is a response of praise as we realize the amazing consequence of Christ's resurrection for our lives, drawing us into relationship with the triune God." Stuart Townend

[Other great texts by Stuart Townend are “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us,” “In Christ Alone,” and my favorite, “All My Days” (Beautiful Savior).]

Have a great week.
