Hymn of Praise for Election Day
Daniel revealing King Nebuchadnezzar's forgotten dream. Daniel, upon having a vision that revealed the mystery to him, responded in a hymn of praise - one of the great biblical psalms that is not found in the book of Psalms. If you have time, read the whole story. HYMN OF PRAISE FOR ELECTION DAY, DANIEL 2:19-23 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven and said, Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning, He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king. --DANIEL 2:19-23 [Believe it or not, it almost sounds like an election-day prayer. I'd feel pretty terrible if the two or three minutes spent reading this was the distraction that kept you from voting, or from praying for your country.
