PSALM 121 A Pilgrim Psalm I look up to the mountains; does my strength come from the mountains? No, my strength comes from Yahweh, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains. He won't let you stumble, your Guardian God won't fall asleep. Not on your life! Israel's Guardian will never doze or sleep. [Seeing the grandeur of the mountains or the power and expanse of the ocean, it's not hard to see how people throughout history have found themselves worshipping various aspects of nature. The psalmist was right to direct our attention beyond the mountains to the ultimate source, the Creator God.
